Know Jesus Fully: Steps to Live Broadcasting- Basic Equipment List

Listed below is a basic equipment setup that will have you producing live broadcasts quickly.  Be sure to read the "How To" pages before proceeding too far!

Computer-  We have had good results with Dell Computers. Any computer is acceptable as long as it meets a minimum requirement.  The basic minimum configuration should consist of: (Here's a sample system)
   3.2 Ghz Pentium 4
   1 Ghz RAM Memory
   256Mb DVI Graphics card
Sound Blaster sound card (or equiv)
   250 Gb Hard drive
   2 DVD-RW Drives
   17" 8ms Flat screen monitor
   IEEE 1394 Port

I recommend the Canon GL-2 3-CCD digital camera. Specs are too numerous to mention. (For more info on them please see the Canon web site.)

This camera will produce an analog (S-Video) or digital (DV) signal.

DV to IEEE 1394 cable.

The least expensive, but less desirable, setup is to use the Digital Video(DV) output capability of your camera to input the video signal directly into the computer. This will require a direct audio feed into the camera's audio input jack in order to properly synchronize the audio and video. (We experienced poor synchronization of audio/video when trying to use a separate sound card.)

Use a Bogen 3011BN Tripod and a 501 Fluid Head. These are very sturdy and reduce vibration.
Use some comm's such as the Motorola T5290 with headsets to communicate with your camera operator.  You can eliminate this if you have close proximity between camera and computer.
