Here's what you'll need to set things up:

1)  Ensure your internet connection is up and working and plugged into your computer and your computer turned on.
2)  Download the latest Windows Media Encoder software from Microsoft and install it on your machine. We'll go through the setup procedure later.
3)  Plug in the IEEE 1394 (Firewire) Cable and connect it to your camera.
4)  By this point, you should have decided on a service provider.  Have the "publishing point" and "server name" information available (from your provider). You will also need the username and password to the server.
5)  To test the output, you'll need some input. Have the camera powered up and focused on something.
