Know Jesus Fully: Steps to Live Broadcasting- Encoder Testing

Step 3- Assuming all is well and the video picture is being viewed in the 2 windows, the screen should look greyed out. While encoding, most items under the various tabs are not available for change.  You can add an outside file to the sources panel, but we'll discuss that in the advanced section. The red "Stop" button is active.
Step 4- Click the "Stop" button after allowing a few moments to record some video.  When the stop button is pressed the "Encoding Results" window pops up.  Press the "Play Output File" and the just recorded video will play in your media player. (Something like this)  When you close the window and proceed to shut down the encoder, you will be prompted to save the session file.  For this test run, I suggest you do.  In the future, you may wish to save it with a different name so as to retain the default file that you just saved.
For the next test, we'll need an ASX file......
